I have been working in the Himalayan region for over a decade on natural resource management with projects on integrated water management, spring recharge, social forestry and ecotourism. My research focuses on characterising the ecohydrology of the Sikkim Himalaya in the context of climate variability and climate change. It involves understanding plant-water relations in key Himalayan species, the interactions between vegetation, soil, precipitation and atmosphere; and its effects on spring and stream hydrology in the Sikkim Himalaya.
